On the 1st of April 2016, the new WABE day care centre Spechtort in Lemsahl-Mellingstedt started its regular operation. Approx. 50 toddlers and 120 children of elementary age can be cared for on site.

The ultra-modern day care centre is conceptually oriented to the pedagogical concept of open work and offers the elementary children in bright, functional rooms equipped with high-quality materials, among other things, a large movement area with integrated movement construction site, a motoric centre, a therapy room, an art studio with integrated wood and pottery workshop, a music room, a children’s library, a construction and design room as well as a role-playing space. The Kneipp area and the installation of an infrared sauna support a healthy growing up. The nursery area with its bright rooms provides the youngest a lot of space to try out and discover.
