REQUIREMENT OF GERMAN DIN VDE V 0108-100-1:2018 -NB IMPLEMENTED.

In Germany the pre-standard to DIN VDE V 0108-100-1, from December 2018, has been strongly adapted in the use of self-contained luminaires. Within the scope of these adjustments, it becomes necessary to install self-contained luminaires in all newly constructed or refurbished objects in Germany where DIN VDE V 0108-100-1 is applied:

  1. to be monitored for function at a suitable “central” point
  2. to prevent battery operation during periods of inactivity.

THE -NB TECHNOLOGY

HOW IT WORKS AND WHY THERE ARE NO SUBSCRIPTION FOLLOW-UP COSTS.

The NB-IoT transmission standard, developed specifically for the Internet of Things (IoT), helps us provide state-of-the-art emergency lighting.

How is this possible? Narrow-Band technology can only transmit a small amount of data, but it can transmit it very far into the building. For example, we can get by with 0.3 KB for a status message, which we then transmit over a long distance from the luminaire.

No access to your building or company network is required for the data transmission of the easy-NB luminaires. The data transmission takes place from each luminaire by means of a built-in SIM card via mobile radio and is already included in the purchase price for seven years. When the batteries installed in the luminaires are used up after about seven years, we take advantage of this moment and replace not only the battery but also the SIM card with a 7-year data flat rate.

After being connected to the power grid, each luminaire logs on to the data center via mobile radio and waits to be connected to an object. Once connected, the test results and settings for each luminaire are stored and protected under high security conditions.

Never have to recover lost test books or complete settings again!!!

All luminaires registered in Germany and Austria are connected to the German data center. Depending on the EU country, national regulations or technical conditions may require servers to be set up in these countries.

INSPECTION AND MONITORING WITHOUT LADDER

-NB – AN EVERYDAY WORK EASE

In operation, FiSCHER -NB offers the convenience of a central battery system for emergency lighting with self-contained luminaires. Without the easy-NB add-on, self-contained FiSCHER luminaires of generation “M” already comply with the classification ATS-S according to DIN EN 62034 and perform all necessary tests autonomously. By using the easy-NB add-on, the luminaires are upgraded in their classification to type PER. Luminaires of this classification perform the following tasks for the operator:

  1. Weekly functional test with documentation in the test logbook
  2. Annual capacity test of the battery with documentation in the test logbook

You can connect to the FiSCHER data center online via any device with Internet access and a web browser. From there, each individual luminaire, even in different objects, can be monitored and controlled.

Just as required by German DIN VDE V 0108-100-1, the inspection book for each individual property can be easily exported as a PDF file and thus presented to the inspection authorities at any time.

Sometimes it is useful and necessary to provide a local display and switching device for the users in addition to the fault display and storage in the data center.

The -NB remote signaling panel enables local fault indication and local execution of emergency light blocking during idle periods. The states are indicated by 3 status LEDs. The emergency light blocking in operating idle times can be switched by means of a key switch.

Alternatively, the emergency light blocking can also be activated, for example, via the 24V input together with the locking system. The “malfunction” status can be transmitted by a potential-free output, for example, to the building control system.

If the expected building penetration of the NB-IoT network coverage is not given, the -NB range extender offers the simple possibility to connect up to 4 easy-NB luminaires to the data center. The -NB range extender allows the access point to the IoT network to be relocated by cable to areas where a sufficient signal level is available. Due to the high IP class of the extender, installation can also take place in outdoor areas of objects.
