HIGH-RISE COMPLEX POMMERNSTRASSE, TORNESCH

The skyscraper complex in Pommernstrasse in Tornesch, built in 1974 and affectionately known as “Affenfelsen” (means an apes compound at the zoo) in the vernacular, has been renovated in several construction phases since summer 2011 at a total cost in the single-digit million range.

After a long phase of costing, a lot of money and energy was invested in the renewal of roofs, windows and the facades. In addition to a reduction in heating costs, security was also to be improved. When planning the emergency lighting, it was therefore decided to use a state-of-the-art, fire compartmentalised supply of the luminaires with FiSCHER INSiLIA LPS systems.

A total of 6 INSiLIA systems with 24 Ah supply almost 300 emergency lighting luminaires of the types AWDE98I and HAWE83I, which can be centrally monitored and controlled from the systems.

After more than 40 years, the high-rise complex is now back up to date in terms of energy and safety technology and continues to offer its residents pleasant living comfort.
