The significantly enlarged EDEKA store at “Am Hammerwerk” in Grevenbroich went into operation in November 2014. With a sales area of about 2400 square meters, the merchant Sander Rath realized one of the largest EDEKA stores in the area. “The E-Center” at “Am Hammerwerk” has more than 35,000 articles in its assortment. “We offer many highlights”, says Mr. Rath during a walkabout of the store. Among the highlights are a large fruit and vegetable department as well as the more than 35-meter-long service counters for meat, sausages, cheese and fresh fish. Specialists and service providers have settled here – including a post office, a lottery ticket office, a shoe and locksmith service, a hairdressing salon and a flower shop.

A bakery is also located here and will even offer baked goods on Sundays in the future. More than 90 employees take care of the customers in the centre, who can easily access 230 parking spaces directly in front of the door. In order to offer both customers and employees the highest level of security in the operation of the centre, a solution with FiSCHER INSiLIA-LPS systems was chosen for the emergency lighting. Two INSiLIA systems with the corresponding system luminaires were installed fire compartment by fire compartment. A total of 30 escape sign luminaires type S2 and C4 were installed. 71 emergency luminaires of the types AWE, AWD, DR, WY, HA87 and T6 for outdoor areas were used as required for anti-panic or escape route lighting.
